Paul's 50th Birthday

Paul hit the big "50" yesterday, Saturday March 28th. He seemed to take it all in stride, better then what I will do when I hit it next year. I am thankful for the 50 years of life he has had and for the opportunity I have had to know him 30 of those years. He is a wonderful husband, father, and now a grandpa. He took the time to do more with his children then his father (unfortunately) ever did with him. I'm afraid I take him for granted. I need to remember to appreciate each day he is with me, because he is my best friend and we share years of memories that no one else could ever relate to. I love you Paul.

Another Trip to Rexburg March 19th

Here I am with my favorite little grandbaby (after a 14 hour ride in the truck--I look a bit wasted.) I love holding him...
... and feeding him.
Leo likes to keep feeding time interesting by giving me a few kisses. I love you too Leo.
Soren is always completely content when you feed him his bottle. I'm glad I get the opportunity of holding him and feeding him.

Some quiet time together. I love staring into his big blue eyes.
Here is a cute picture of Soren and Scott that Melissa took. I like the stripped jacket with the pointy hood.
Soren loves his time with his Mommie.
Uncle Ryan Wilder is an expert at holding babies since he already has two nephews who live nearby.
Nicole will hold Soren any chance she gets.
Some relaxing time with Grandpa.
I bought this little outfit for Soren and thought he looked adorable in it. My favorite past time now is shopping all the stores for their baby clothes sales.
Another view of the little "sailor".
Soren and his Mom before we got ready to go out and take a walk. We actually had some 60 degree weather while we were there.
Soren in his cute nighties he was wearing the day I came to take care of him. I sure enjoyed seeing my kids and their spouses and baby Soren. The time went by too quickly and then it was time to jump in the truck and go home again. Bye-Bye baby, I hope to see you soon.

The Many Facial Expressions of Soren

Soren amazes me with his variety of expressions.
These pictures were taken the day he was blessed.
He was almost a month old.
What do you think he is thinking in these pictures taken in a matter of minutes?
Maybe this one would be ...
"I'm not saying nothing."
"Hey baby, what's up?"
"Hmm... I'm kind of getting tired of all these pictures Grandpa is taking."
"No, I'm not smiling no more."
"I have something to say.   Are we almost done?"
"Okay, I'll keep hanging in there."
"Here's a little grin for you."
So these are some of the pictures of Soren that keep me smiling and brighten up my day.

My Dad's 85th Birthday

March 12th my Dad turned 85 years old.  Paul & I, along with my brother Bill & wife Muriel, took him to eat at Anthony's on the Bremerton waterfront.  We had a lovely view and a nice evening.  Afterwards Dad opened his gifts.  Here he is holding 85 one dollar bills.  He said it reminded him of the Geico commercial.
Here he is holding his fudge brownie birthday cake.  I should have had him turn it around so you could see the 8 first and then the five single candles standing for "85" years old.  He continues to try to keep his spirits up even though the house is pretty lonely since Mom died in September.  Overall he is in pretty good health.  His parents lived to age 87 so he says he probably has two more years.  We will take him for as long as we can, we just pray for a good quality life for him, free of any bad ailments.  Thanks Dad for being such a great Dad.

Lost Grandma Found

Introducing Soren Richard Wheeler

I haven't blogged for such a long time because of my new job as Grandma.  Ever since Soren's birth on January 2, 2009 life has been busy and crazy.  We drove Melissa and Soren to Idaho the end of January to reunite with his Daddy (Scott) and have made a trip back there every 3 weeks.  It is crazy.  I hate the 16 hour drive, but I love to see all three of my children and to get to hold my new grandbaby.  Paul makes the trip so he can snowmobile with his son and son-in-laws.  I will post some pictures of the new little guy that has stolen our hearts
I love to hold and take care of him.  Once in awhile I would let his grandpa have a turn.
Grandpa enjoyed his time with Soren.  We would try to take a picture everyday we were away from Scott and send it to him so he could keep up on how much Soren was changing the first month.  As you can tell from the sign, the above picture was day 14.
Guess who Grandma loves?

Having a few good laughs together.

I will try to get back to blogging and you will probably see lot's of Soren pictures because he is my joy right now.
